There is something incredibly powerful about a Full Moon.
As the Moon reaches its fullest expression, it shines a light on what has been hidden, revealing what is complete, what no longer belongs and what is quietly asking to be released.
This Full Moon falls in Capricorn, the sign of discipline, responsibility, commitment and long-term achievement.
While the Sun in Cancer encourages us to nurture ourselves emotionally, Capricorn reminds us that our future is built by the choices we make today.
This isn’t about releasing people simply because social media tells you to.
It’s about releasing anything that keeps you living as a previous version of yourself.
Old beliefs.
Old fears.
Old identities.
Old stories.
Old expectations.
Anything that keeps you repeating the same patterns.
I often say that the Universe responds to your energy, not your intentions.
Sometimes the greatest transformation doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from letting go of what no longer belongs so you have the space and energy to move forward.
🪐 Why Capricorn Is So Powerful for Releasing
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, often called the great teacher of astrology.
Saturn isn’t here to punish us. It teaches us through experience. It asks us to take responsibility for our lives, build strong foundations and become the person we know we are capable of being.
A Full Moon represents completion. It’s a time to pause, reflect and ask yourself what has run its course.
Under this Capricorn Full Moon, we’re invited to release what has become too heavy to carry.
The habits that no longer serve us.
The beliefs that keep us playing small.
The expectations we’ve placed on ourselves.
The need to prove our worth.
The fear of getting it wrong.
The pressure to have everything figured out.
When we let go of what no longer supports us, we create space for new opportunities, healthier relationships, greater confidence and a life that feels more aligned with who we truly are.
☿ Mercury Retrograde Begins on the Same Day
As if this Capricorn Full Moon wasn’t powerful enough, Mercury Retrograde also begins on the same day, making this an incredibly potent time to pause, reflect and let go.
Mercury Retrograde is known for bringing the past back into our awareness.
Old memories.
Old conversations.
Old relationships.
Old beliefs.
Unfinished business.
You may find yourself thinking about situations you believed were long behind you. You might hear from someone unexpectedly or notice old emotions resurfacing.
Sometimes it can feel like life is taking a step backwards, but that’s not what’s happening.
Mercury Retrograde invites us to look at what still needs our attention before we’re truly ready to move forward.
When this energy combines with a Capricorn Full Moon, it’s like the Universe is handing you a broom and saying,
“Before you step into your next chapter, clear away what’s no longer serving you.”
This is your opportunity to clear the emotional debris.
To release the stories you’ve outgrown.
To let go of the beliefs that no longer reflect who you are.
To forgive yourself for the choices you made with the awareness you had at the time.
Every experience in life has something to teach us.
Once you’ve learned the lesson, you don’t need to keep carrying the weight of it.
By consciously choosing to release what you’ve outgrown, you’re creating space for something new to enter your life.
Every conscious choice you make is your way of saying,
“Thank you for the lesson. I’m ready to move forward.”
🤍 Before You Begin
Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed for 15 to 20 minutes.
You might like to light a candle, make yourself a cup of tea or play some gentle music.
There is no right or wrong way to do this.
The most important thing is that you’re present.
Take a few slow, deep breaths.
Close your eyes for a moment.
Feel your feet on the floor.
Allow yourself to arrive in this moment.
This isn’t about rushing through a ritual.
It’s about giving yourself permission to stop and listen.
✨ Take a Moment to Reflect
Before you start writing, ask yourself these questions.
🤍 What responsibility am I carrying that isn’t actually mine?
🤍 Where am I still trying to prove my worth?
🤍 What habits are keeping me comfortable instead of helping me grow?
🤍 Where am I holding on simply because it feels familiar?
🤍 Which version of myself am I ready to lovingly let go of?
🤍 What goals, expectations or ambitions no longer align with who I am becoming?
Don’t rush the answers.
Whatever comes up is exactly what needs your attention.
🌿 How Do You Actually Let Go?
This is one of the questions I’m asked the most.
“Linda, I know what I want to let go of… but how do I actually do it?”
The truth is, letting go isn’t about pretending something never happened.
It isn’t about pushing your feelings away or forcing yourself to “move on.”
Letting go is making a conscious decision that you’re no longer going to allow that experience, belief or emotion to control your life.
📝 Step 1. Write it down.
Grab a pen and a piece of paper.
Write down everything you’re ready to release.
Don’t worry about grammar.
Don’t try to make it sound nice.
Just be honest.
It might be…
• Fear of failure.
• Self-doubt.
• People pleasing.
• Perfectionism.
• Limiting beliefs around money.
• Guilt.
• Resentment.
• Old relationship patterns.
• Feeling like you’re never enough.
Whatever comes to mind, write it down.
No one else ever has to read it.
💛 Step 2. Feel it.
Now look at what you’ve written.
Take a deep breath.
Notice what happens in your body.
Can you feel tightness in your chest?
A knot in your stomach?
Tension in your shoulders?
Simply notice it.
You don’t need to analyse it.
You don’t need to fix it.
Just acknowledge it’s there.
Often, simply acknowledging it is where the healing begins.
🙏 Step 3. Thank it.
This may sound strange, but every experience has taught you something.
Even the painful ones.
Perhaps it taught you resilience.
Perhaps it helped you develop stronger boundaries.
Perhaps it showed you what you truly deserve.
Quietly say:
“Thank you for what you’ve taught me. I no longer need to carry you.”
🌱 Step 4. Choose your future.
This is where the transformation begins.
Ask yourself:
“If I truly let this go, who would I become?”
Then ask:
“What is one small action I can take tomorrow that supports the person I’m becoming?”
It doesn’t have to be a huge change.
Real transformation happens one conscious choice at a time.
🔥 Step 5. Release it.
Read your list one final time.
Take a slow, deep breath in.
As you breathe out, imagine the weight leaving your body.
If it feels meaningful to you, safely burn the paper.
Or tear it into small pieces and place it in the recycling or rubbish.
Watch it leave your hands.
Notice how that feels.
The paper isn’t what creates the release.
You do.
The paper is simply a symbol that you’re making a conscious decision to move forward.
🌕 Full Moon Release Affirmation
Place your hand on your heart and slowly say:
“I lovingly release everything that no longer supports the life I am creating. I release it with gratitude, knowing it has served its purpose. I trust that by letting go, I create space for new opportunities, deeper peace, greater abundance and a life that reflects who I truly am. I am ready. I am open. I am free.”
Take one final deep breath.
Notice how you feel.
You may not feel completely different straight away, and that’s okay.
Sometimes release is immediate.
Sometimes it unfolds over the days and weeks that follow.
Trust your own timing.
🌙 The Most Important Thing to Remember
Capricorn wants us to build a stronger future.
Mercury Retrograde asks us to revisit the past.
Together, they create a rare opportunity.
One shows you what still needs your attention, while the other reminds you that you don’t have to keep carrying it.
It’s the perfect time to release what has served its purpose and move into the next chapter with greater clarity, confidence and intention.
The ritual doesn’t create the transformation.
You do.
The Full Moon simply shines a light on what you’re ready to see.
The real magic begins afterwards, when you make different choices.
When you speak to yourself with more compassion.
When you set healthier boundaries.
When you trust your intuition.
When you choose to become the person you’ve been working towards.
Every time you choose a healthier thought instead of an old belief…
Every time you respond differently instead of reacting from an old wound…
Every time you honour yourself instead of abandoning yourself…
You’re continuing the release.
That’s how lives change.
Not because of one Full Moon.
But because of the choices you make after it.
Perhaps this Capricorn Full Moon has found you for a reason.
Perhaps there is something you’ve been carrying that no longer belongs in the life you’re creating.
You don’t have to carry yesterday into tomorrow.
Take a deep breath.
Write it down.
Thank it.
Release it.
Then take your first step towards the future that’s been waiting for you all along.
✨ Live deliberately.
