There is a particular kind of tired that sleep does not fix.
It is the tired that arrives after saying yes when your whole body meant no. It is the tired of keeping ten tabs open in your head, remembering everyone else’s appointments, smoothing over the awkward bit, making the plan, being the reliable one, then wondering why your own life feels like something you are managing from the sidelines.
That is the conversation I keep coming back to as we move towards the Virgo New Moon.
Not the glossy version of Virgo that tells us to buy a new planner, colour code our cupboards and become the most productive person in the room. Frankly, we have had enough of that nonsense.
This New Moon has something more useful to say.
It asks us to look at the way our energy is being spent. It asks what is genuinely ours, what has quietly become a habit, and what we have been carrying simply because nobody else picked it up.
The exact moment in Brisbane
The New Moon arrives in Brisbane on Friday 11 September 2026 at 1:27 pm AEST. Astrologically, it occurs at approximately 18 degrees and 26 minutes of Virgo.
Astronomically, a New Moon is the point in the lunar cycle when the Moon and Sun are aligned from Earth’s perspective. The illuminated side of the Moon faces away from us, so the Moon is usually not visible in the daytime sky.
That matters to me because the literal sky and the symbolic sky are telling a similar story. There is a moment when something is present, but not yet visible. There is a moment when the next shape of things is forming quietly, before there is anything impressive to show for it.
You do not have to force a result just because you have named an intention.
What Virgo is really offering
Virgo is an earth sign. It is concerned with the details of lived experience, including the body, work, health, habits, time and the small decisions that become a life.
At its best, Virgo is not fussy. It is discerning. It notices what works and what does not. It knows that a beautiful idea still needs somewhere to land on a Tuesday afternoon when you are busy, hungry and slightly over it.
This is where the New Moon can be useful.
It offers a chance to stop treating your life as a personality test and start looking at the evidence. What leaves you steadier? What leaves you scattered? Which commitments give something back? Which ones keep taking while you call it being a good person?
The New Moon is also in a supportive relationship with Mars, according to the astrological chart for this lunation. I would not read that as a command to charge ahead and overhaul everything by Monday. I would read it as a little more courage available for the practical move you already know you need to make.
Send the email. Cancel the thing. Put the boundary in plain English. Book the appointment. Stop pretending you need another month of research before you are allowed to begin.
Small does not mean insignificant.
How this New Moon might feel
You may notice a low tolerance for clutter, noise or conversations that go nowhere. You may suddenly see the gap between what you say is important and what your calendar keeps proving is important.
You may feel motivated to sort something out, then become irritated when the sorting turns into another impossible standard. That is the Virgo trap. Discernment can become criticism when it forgets that you are a person, not a renovation project.
You might feel more aware of your body. You could notice that the meeting you keep dreading leaves you with a tight jaw. You could realise that your supposedly harmless routine has been quietly draining the life out of you. You could find yourself wanting less advice and more honesty.
That is not necessarily a sign that something is wrong.
Sometimes clarity feels like disappointment at first because the old story was more flattering. Sometimes the truth is simply that you have outgrown the arrangement.
How to work with it without turning yourself into a project
Start with one ordinary day.
Do not begin with your entire future. Begin with tomorrow morning. Notice what you reach for before you have checked in with yourself. Notice where your attention goes. Notice the first point in the day when you abandon your own pace to keep up with somebody else’s.
Then ask one clean question.
What would make this day feel more like mine?
The answer might be a proper lunch. It might be twenty minutes without your phone. It might be saying no before you have created a five paragraph explanation. It might be putting the task you keep avoiding in the diary instead of carrying it around as a vague cloud of guilt.
Virgo likes a useful action. Give it one.
A simple ritual for the New Moon
On Friday afternoon or in the evening, take a sheet of paper and draw three columns. Name them Mine, Not mine and Not yet.
Put the responsibilities, worries and decisions currently taking up space in your mind into the column where they belong. Be honest. This is not the time to make yourself look noble.
Choose one item from Not mine. Say out loud, “I release the job of managing what does not belong to me.” Cross it out. Do not replace it with a new task.
Choose one item from Mine and make it smaller. Turn it into an action that takes twenty minutes or less. Your nervous system understands a next step much better than it understands a grand declaration.
Leave Not yet alone. Fold the paper and place it somewhere safe overnight. You are allowed to let some things remain undecided.
That last part is important. A pause is not a failure to manifest. Sometimes it is the most intelligent thing you can do.
The wider sky around this New Moon
The New Moon itself will not be a dramatic object to look for in the sky because it is the invisible lunar phase. The days around it do, however, offer plenty to notice.
From Brisbane, Venus is visible after sunset on 10 September and remains a bright evening object. Saturn is visible for much of the night. Mars and Jupiter are best viewed before sunrise on 11 September. Neptune is above the horizon for much of the night, although binoculars or a telescope are needed because it is faint.
The September equinox arrives on 23 September in Brisbane time, marking the beginning of spring in the Southern Hemisphere. NASA describes the equinox as the point when the Sun is directly above Earth’s equator and day and night are close to equal in length.
Later in the month, the Full Moon rises on 27 September at 2:49 am in Brisbane. NASA’s September sky guide also notes that the Harvest Moon appears near Saturn and Neptune around 26 September.
There is a lovely progression here, without needing to make it mystical. First, the sky goes quiet. Then the evening planets begin to stand out. Then the season turns. The dark Moon is not asking us to perform a transformation on cue. It is part of a sequence.
We can be part of a sequence too.
The work I am excited to offer
This New Moon has me especially excited to offer my new Energy Consulting work for life and business.
After more than 35 years working across ThetaHealing, mediumship, intuitive and psychic development, Reiki and manifestation, I have learned that real change rarely comes from one perfect answer. It comes from being willing to look at the whole picture. All the readings I have been doing has all shown the clients energy and what is holding them back, most people are exhausted in their head and cannot figure out what to do next.
That can include your patterns, your energy, your decisions, your body, your environment, your Human Design and the stories you have been using to explain why something cannot change. It can include spiritual modalities, intuitive insight and grounded conversation. It can also include the very practical question of what you are going to do differently the next day.
This is not about me telling you how to run your life or your business. It is about identifying what is really driving your current results, so you have the awareness to change them. Energy is everything.
When we dive into different modalities together, the aim is not to collect more information about yourself. The aim is to create real shifts. The kind you can feel in the way you make a decision, hold a boundary, spend your energy and respond to an opportunity.
That is what I mean by living deliberately.
It is not a perfect life. It is a life where your choices are becoming more honest. It is noticing when you are on autopilot and choosing again. It is allowing your energy to become information instead of treating it as an inconvenience.
I am genuinely excited about this work because I have seen what can happen when someone stops trying to force a life that no longer fits and starts listening to what is actually true.
If the Virgo New Moon has you looking at your routines, your relationships, your work or your next chapter with fresh eyes, an Energy Consultation may be the right place to begin.
Not because you need fixing.
Because you may be ready to stop carrying what was never yours.
